Generally the climate in Albania can be described as mild temperate with hot, dry summers and a coastal temperature averaging 30°C (85°F). However the sea breezes and lower night-time temperatures allow for a more comfortable feel. Winters are cool and wet, and are remarkably cold in the central mountains. Although January’s average temperature seems high at 13°C (56°F), night-time sees a significant drop to below zero, making even the cities feel unpleasantly cold.
